Using the results of the research Mapping and Gapping Analysis of Cultural Assets in the West Midlands (PDF, 1.2mb) by Burns Owens Partnership and commissioned by West Midlands Regional Assembly, we've produced a series of maps which visually demonstrate where the region's key cultural venues and sites — or 'assets' — are located.
Assets are plotted on maps of the West Midlands against different backgrounds which show how the location of assets relates to elements such as population density, levels of health deprivation and levels of cultural participation.
The maps were originally produced to inform the Regional Spatial Strategy (2009), but are likely to be of interest to any professionals with an interest in West Midlands culture, regional promotion and marketing or regional spatial planning.
